The adsorption dryer is capable of removing moisture from the air at conditions that are no longer possible for condenser dryers. With the adsorption dryer, a relative humidity of about 5% can be achieved at low temperatures. Due to the technology used, the discharge temperature will be increased which is not desirable in some cases. To bring the air back to a desirable level, a duct cooler can be applied. The duct cooler is connected to a chiller and cools the discharge air back so that the heat from the process is completely removed.❄️
In the photo, a ducted chiller was applied to prevent the hygroscopic medium from exceeding the maximum permissible temperature because it would otherwise react with other substances.
