What does a blowout cabinet do in a temporary climate system?
A blowout cabinet (also called a blowout cabinet or fan coil) distributes conditioned air evenly throughout a room. The unit converts cold or hot water into air and directs it into the space. This stabilises temperature, prevents local overheating and supports a comfortable, safe working environment in offices, production areas or temporary industrial and construction setups.
When should I choose a fan coil or blowout cabinet instead of a direct air conditioner?
If your system runs on Chillers or Heatpumps, water is circulated rather than direct cooling air. You then need an air-side terminal: a blowout cabinet. These units efficiently transfer cold or heat from the water circuit to the room air. This is ideal for larger areas, adjacent rooms, or locations where pipework is already in place.
What capacity (kW and m³/h) do I need for my situation?
The right capacity depends on room size, internal heat sources, target temperature and occupancy or machinery. Blowout cabinets are sized by cooling/heating capacity (kW) and airflow (m³/h) to ensure proper distribution.
